Riedel Vinum Syrah/Rhone Wine Glasses, Set of 6

Set of six Vinum wine glasses are made of 24-percent lead crystal by Riedel, makers of fine glassware. Wine connoisseurs will particularly appreciate the care and design that goes into making sure each Vinum glass is the perfect shape for enhancing the bouquet and flavor of specific varietals. The distinct bowl shape directs the wine to just the right part of the tongue so each note can be appreciated and savored. It's simple enough to complement equally simple or even complex dinnerware and tableware patterns. This particular Syrah glass is recommended for drinking Syrah, Shiraz, Amarone, Rh??ne and other wines. The Vinum line is functional, high quality glass that belongs to the Riedel family of stemware. Introduced in 1986, the Vinum collection was first in a series of stemware in history to be based exclusively on the characteristics of grape varietals, meaning the content commands the shape.

Customer Review: Riedel Syrah
They really add to your wine enjoyment. And the second shippment actually came in one piece. Amazon was real good about the return but they were not package well for shipment.
Customer Review: Gorgeous, but disappointed with durability
We have been avid fans of this Riedel glass - we love the way it looks, the way it feels, and the way it enhances syrah and cabernet. However we are now down to two glasses after receiving eight as a gift in 2002. Six have broken unexpectedly in the meantime, mostly during the washing process. We take immaculate care of our glasses. We handwash them carefully after each use. And still, they break - usually in the middle of the stem. Two broke in my hands without being hit against anything. My issue is these glasses are an investment, and at about $20 per glass I believe it's reasonable to expect durability along with beauty and function. Riedel has disappointed us here. It is almost as if the glass has stress points that develop over time. Again, not what I would expect from a high end glass. It is time for us to shop for more glasses, and sadly Riedel no longer has our loyalty. Inconsistent durability should not come with such a high pri...
