Medium- to full-bodied red wines need a wide surface area to fully release their bouquet, hence this monumental wine-specific glass from Metrokane. Ideally designed for Bordeaux, Cabernet, and Merlot, the 33-ounce glass provides the appropriate bowl girth and curvature that wine connoisseurs expect. Furthermore, the flared tasting lip directs the wine to the front palate, enhancing the total sensory experience. The set consists of 4 glasses. Metrokane, maker of the renowned Rabbit corkscrew, etches the base of each glass with a tiny Rabbit icon as a symbol of quality. Hand-blown of remarkably clear lead-free crystal, the glasses are dishwasher-safe, yet the stunning size, 10-3/4 by 4 inches, may preclude them from fitting in most dishwashers. Metrokane also produces crystal specifically designed for medium- to full-bodied reds, sparkling wines, and dry white wines. --Ann Bieri

Customer Review: Great giant glasses
While other reviewers complained and did not like the size of these wine glasses, I think this product is well worth the money. The size of these glasses is very large, but that is the point. Large glasses are perfect for special wines so you can smell the wine and let it breathe in a large bowl. These glasses are approximately the same size as their reidel equivalent, and I'm very happy with the quality and shine of the crystal for half the price of reidel's. Thus, I don't mind if these break, but the crystal seems to be strong and the manufacturer advertises that these glasses can be put in the dishwashing machine although I tend to rinse with hot water only. Metrokane glasses are well worth the money if you're looking for large bowls and an oversized big glass for your good juice.
Customer Review: Great Product Beware Short Shipping
These wine glasses are fantastic. They are large and in charge! However, they are shipped in sets of two. I ordered a total of eight, and received two shipments of two. I called Amazon and they reshipped - another set of two. As I was two short, I called again; they refused to reorder, saying I would have ten if they did so. I pointed out I was likely to get two again, not four, and was very firm, and they reshipped. I got two again to complete the eight. They are worth the trouble, but be prepared.
